HMD Global has launched a new phone in India today. However, it isn’t a smartphone but the Nokia 106 feature phone. The feature phone market is still a money-spinner and Nokia sits comfortably at the top of the list.
The Nokia 106 has a 1.8-inch color display, an alphanumeric keypad, and a curved polycarbonate body with an inherent coloring which means scratches won’t be very visible. It has dual-SIM support, 4MB of storage and a removable 800mAh battery which can last up to 21 days on standby and provide 15 hours of talk time. Charging is via a MicroUSB port.
The Nokia 106 can store up to 2,000 contacts and 500 messages and comes bundled with the famous Snake Xenzia game. The phone is priced at INR 1,299 (usd 19) and comes in dark gray. It will be available for purchase at retail stores across the country.
