At the recently concluded Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, OPPO formally showcased its 10X Lossless zoom technology crammed in a cameraphone. Couple of stunning samples shot using the new digital camera tech were also appeared. Later, OPPO’s VP hinted on his Weibo page that the cameraphone bearing the new 10X lossless zoom function will be uncovered in April. The OPPO VP has once again shared some details on the release itinerary of the OPPO model.
The name of the model is still unknown however ahead of the launch in April, the manufacturer VP hinted that fans will get a chance to choose up the smartphone as soon as it is unveiled. He hinted that the manufacturer shifted the launch to April so as to obtain abundant stock for the first sale. Therefore, he mentioned that the stock for the initial sale will be up to two million units.
As a reminder, the 10x optical zoom uses a periscopic lens system. Even though it looks the smartphone has a triple digital camera setup however in the real sense, there are just two visible sensors; a 48MP main + wide-angle digital camera, both with OIS. The third lens is a prism, thus the shape is not round like the others. Light travels through the prism in which it meets about 5 lenses before hitting the picture sensor. The image sensor interface comes with a slider what changes the zoom level as it slides up. In other specs, the smartphone is expected to feature a Snapdragon 855 chipset.
